Whether you want a thriller, rom-com, documentary or reality show, there's something new to watch on streaming this week. A few highlights:
"Cape Fear" — limited series available Friday on Apple TV
- Married attorneys (Amy Adams and Patrick Wilson) have their lives upended when the killer they helped put away (Javier Bardem) gets out of prison and comes looking for revenge.
- Behind the scenes: The series is inspired by Martin Scorsese's 1991 thriller remake, with Scorsese and Steven Spielberg attached as executive producers.
"Office Romance" — romantic comedy available Friday on Netflix
- Jennifer Lopez plays an airline CEO whose new lawyer (Brett Goldstein) falls for her, complicating a high-stakes case and their careers.
- Zoom in: Goldstein co-wrote the film with "Ted Lasso" co-creator Joe Kelly. Also, Lopez reunites onscreen with movie dad Edward James Olmos nearly 30 years after "Selena."
"Love Island USA" — Season 8 available now on Peacock
- Ariana Madix returns to host as a new group of singles enters the Fiji villa.
- By the numbers: NBCUniversal told Axios the new season is on track to become the franchise's biggest revenue-driving season.
"The Vampire Lestat" — series premiere available Sunday on AMC and AMC+
- AMC's Anne Rice series returns with a new title and a new focus: Vampire Lestat (Sam Reid) as an immortal, touring rock star.
- State of play: It's the sequel to "Interview With the Vampire," and critics say it's over the top.
"Earth, Wind & Fire (To Be Celestial vs. That's the Weight of the World)" — documentary available Sunday on HBO Max
- Questlove directs this HBO documentary about Earth, Wind & Fire, tracing the soul-funk band's spiritual origins and musical influence from the 1970s to present day.
- Zoom in: The Obamas, Stevie Wonder, Lionel Richie, and former and current band members are among those who participated in the film.
