"Survivor" launches 50-state scavenger hunt

CBS is giving Americans a chance to win an invitation for themselves and a guest to witness the "Survivor" season finale in person.

The big picture: The competition series' 50th season begins airing Feb. 25.

State of play: The "Survivor 50 Challenge," a scavenger hunt for 50 hidden immunity idols placed across all 50 states, kicks off Jan. 30.

Winners will be invited to attend the live finale in Los Angeles on May 20.

Zoom in: Each state will hold its own unique challenge, from exploring caves in Kentucky to gliding across Louisiana's bayou and uncovering a nod to Jeff Probst's Kansas roots.

How it works: Fans can visit Survivor50Challenge.com and sign up for alerts to find out when the clue will drop in their state.

Once the idol is found, players must snap a photo and submit it to the site.
