Scoop: U.S. investment firm Lindsay Goldberg prevails in German dispute

• The New York-based firm was founded nearly 25 years ago, and has raised around $20 billion to buy middle-market companies.

Catch up quick: Lindsay Goldberg last year was forced by a U.S. court to turn over internal documents to B&C, which believed it had been conned into overpaying for a packaging company called Schur.

• Three of Lindsay Goldberg's limited partners — large public pension funds in New York, Wisconsin and Louiaiana —also were required to share Schur-related papers.

Zoom in: The tribunal's ruling is confidential, but Axios has learned that it came in at over 400 pages and requires B&C to pay over $43 million to Lindsay Goldberg and related parties.

• All claims against Lindsay Goldberg were dismissed, according to a person familiar with the matter.

What they're saying: Lindsay Goldberg declined comment to Axios, but wrote the following in a letter to investors:

"This outcome confirms that Lindsay Goldberg, its affiliates, and associated entities acted with integrity throughout the process and reaffirms our longstanding commitment to high standards of business practices."

B&C hasn't yet responded to a request for comment.
