No link found between aluminum exposure in vaccines and childhood disorders

What they found: The researchers examined vaccination records between 1997 and 2018, when vaccines with varying amounts of aluminum were introduced in Denmark's childhood vaccination program.

• Aluminum has been used for decades in some vaccines to boost the body's immune response.
• A review of more than 1.2 million cases starting at age 2 with follow-ups found that for every extra milligram of aluminum a child is exposed to through vaccines, there was virtually no change in the risk of developing an autoimmune conditions.
• They also found no meaningful link between aluminum exposure and developing allergies, autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder or other neurological disorders.
• Small relative increases in risk could not be statistically excluded, particularly for some rarer outcomes, they wrote.
