If I could buy any SUV, I'd buy a Range Rover, the flagship of the Land Rover brand.
Its stately presence, along with an opulent interior and supple ride, are almost dream-like.
Yes, but: Luxury comes at a price. The Range Rover starts at nearly $110,000 and goes up to more than $210,000 depending on the trim and options.
I tested the 7-passenger Range Rover Autobiography with a 523-hp V-8 engine, topping out at $177,705.
My favorite feature: the air suspension that gave this 6,000-pound SUV its cloud-like ride, but also automatically lowered for easy entry and exit.
What's next: a new Range Rover EV, coming in 2026.
The intrigue: You might not be able to buy one even if you want it — Jaguar Land Rover has paused shipments to the U.S. while it figures out a tariff strategy.
I test drive vehicles in my role as a juror for the North American Car and Truck of the Year awards. Opinions are my own.
