Exclusive: Klobuchar says GOP has to "get their act together" after Signal leak

Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Min.) said at an Axios event Tuesday that Republican leaders on Capitol Hill must fully investigate the alleged leak of a highly sensitive Signal chat detailing Trump administration plans for airstrikes in Yemen.

Why it matters: Democrats are ramping up the public pressure on the GOP to hold their own party accountable after the bombshell story from The Atlantic.

"They gotta get their act together," Klobuchar told Axios's Ashley Gold at Axios's 2025 What's Next Summit on Tuesday.
Klobuchar said the Signal fiasco reminds her of the chaos the Trump administration is causing across the federal government as it shutters agencies and unilaterally freezes funding.

The big picture: Senate Democrats hammered top Trump intelligence officials at an Intelligence Committee hearing Tuesday, demanding answers about what was being said in the Signal group chat.

"With a Republican-run Congress, they're gonna have to take it on themselves and have an investigation," Klobuchar said.
