Instagram is adding a handful of new features to direct messages, including scheduling messages, translating and pinning them and sharing your favorite songs.

The big picture: The new features make the app more like Apple messages and makes it easier to manage conversations without switching apps.

Zoom in: Instagram is rolling out the ability for users to schedule messages 29 days in advance and translate messages into 99 different languages directly within DMs.

Users will be able to pin up to three messages of their choice to the top of their DMs.
Instagram is introducing new music stickers that you can send to anyone in the DMs, allowing them to listen without exiting the app. Artists JENNIE and Doechii will help Instagram launch the music sharing feature by testing it in their Instagram broadcast channels.
Group chats now have unique QR codes, making it simpler to invite others.
New features are available to users worldwide.
