Scoop: Trio of Senate Dems nab top campaign spots

• The move completes the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee's senior leadership team. We scooped last week who will serve as the top aides to DSCC Chair Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.).
• Schumer and Gillibrand are bringing on senators with national name recognition and fundraising chops in Schiff and Kelly — and an ambitious freshman in Blunt Rochester.

The big picture: They'll help pursuing pickup opportunities in states like North Carolina, Florida and Texas while defending competitive Democratic seats elsewhere.

• Michigan and Georgia are the Republicans' top chances at a flip. The surprise retirement of Sen. Gary Peters (D-Mich.) this week makes Gillibrand and Co.'s path to a majority even more difficult.
