Biden team points to benefits of cancer "moonshot"

Driving the news: Biden administration officials took a victory lap during a virtual event Monday, saying the initiative resulted in more than 125 government actions and new commitments from 250 companies, nonprofits, academic, institutions and patient groups.

• They pointed to aa not-yet-finalized rule to limit nicotine in cigarettes, funding for cancer screening at federally qualified health centers, expanded support for women's health research and Medicare reimbursement for cancer navigation services.
• "I feel very proud our work has been about ending cancer as we know it," said Danielle Carnival, deputy assistant to the president for the moonshot, adding the initiative was on track to cutting cancer mortality by at least half by 2047 and improving the experience of those living with cancer.
