First Lady Jill Biden's final holiday season at the White House features decor around the theme "A Season of Peace and Light."
The big picture: The theme encourages Americans to reflect on the peace and light of the holidays following the contentious election cycle.
By the numbers: As always, decorating the People's House is a massive undertaking. This year over 300 volunteers supported the effort. Decorations include:
- 83 Christmas trees
- 9,810 feet of ribbon
- Over 28,125 ornaments
- 165,075 holiday lights
- The gingerbread house is made of 25 sheets of gingerbread dough, 10 sheets of sugar cookie dough, 65 pounds of pastillage (hard icing), 45 pounds of chocolate, 50 pounds of royal icing and 10 pounds of gum paste.
