Scoop: Harris officials to brief Senate Dems

Officials from Vice President Harris'2024 campaign will meet with Senate Democrats on Capitol Hill on Thursday, Axios has learned.

Why it matters: Senate Democrats out-performed Harris in every single swing state this year, and it is the first meeting between the groups since Nov. 5, when Harris lost and Republicans won control of the Senate.

The Harris officials will meet with Democrats at a lunch in the Capitol, according to multiple sources.

Senate Democratic leadership has spoken highly of the campaign that the Harris team ran, but has argued that it didn't have enough time to reach voters.

The big picture: Senate Democrats met last week in two post-mortem gatherings convened by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.).

Democrats vented that they felt caught flat-footed on GOP attacks about transgender policies. They also argued that their campaigns were damaged by the economy and inflation.
