More couples are marrying on Sept. 21

By the numbers: The number of couples choosing to get married on Sept. 21 has increased by 33% since 2019, according to wedding site Zola.

Between the lines: The classic song "September" by Earth, Wind & Fire is a contributing factor, says Allison Cullman, a wedding data analyst at the company.

The song has 1.7 billion streams on Spotify and is currently trending on Instagram.

Zola's latest "First Look" report shows that 86% of couples are making wedding choices based on social media.

That could be everything from picking a date based on a trending song to choosing wedding outfits and decor based on social trends, Cullman told Axios.

The bottom line: Trends come and go, but we'll just keep dancing in September.
