Notre Dame football on full display in new Peacock docuseries

"Here Come the Irish," a new docuseries on Peacock, is set to follow the University of Notre Dame football team on and off the field throughout the upcoming season.

Why it matters: Ranked No. 7 on AP's Top 25 College Football Poll, the Fighting Irish are expected to field one of the best teams since head coach Marcus Freeman was hired in 2021.

"I love the thought of our players being able to have a story told that shows the work they put in to be great football players, but also the great stories they have to tell outside of the game of football," Freeman told Axios.

The series will feature interviews with members of the current coaching staff, former head coach Lou Holtz, and players including quarterback Riley Leonard and cornerback Benjamin Morrison.

What's next: The first two episodes will debut Aug. 29. Episodes 3 and 4 will debut Dec. 5. Episodes 5 and 6 will debut Dec. 19, and the finale will debut Jan. 16, 2025.

Peacock will also air all of Notre Dame's home matchups and the Shamrock Series game against Army at Yankee Stadium.
