"Women in Blue" available now on Apple TV+
Driving the news: Set in the '70s, this series is inspired by the true story of the women who joined Mexico's first female police force.
What they're saying: "The creation of the female police group was sort of a publicity stunt to distract people from all the violence that had been going on between the government and the people," co-creator and director Fernando Rovzar told Axios.
- Rovzar said the officers weren't issued guns and couldn't arrest people or investigate crimes. "Thank God they decided to stay, continue the fight and change the system from within."
"Unsolved Mysteries" season 4 available now on Netflix
What to expect: A wide variety of stories, including an unidentified severed head, a mysterious flying creature in Chicago and a deep dive into the infamous case of Jack the Ripper.
