All eyes are on Paris with the 2024 Olympics — an action-packed and star-studded schedule of sporting events.
The big picture: More than 10,000 athletes from around the world will compete for a chance to bring home gold.

When are the 2024 Paris Olympics?
Zoom in: The Summer Olympic Games officially start Friday, July 26, with the opening ceremony, and run through Aug. 11 with the closing ceremony.
- Yes, but: Preliminary competitions for soccer and rugby started days before the opening ceremony.
What time is the Olympics opening ceremony?
Live coverage of the opening ceremony starts at noon EDT Friday and the ceremony is scheduled to start at 1:30pm, according to NBC.
- The ceremony starts at 7:30pm Central Europe Summer Time on Friday in Paris.
- Instead of athletes marching into a stadium for the ceremony, they will parade on more than 90 boats on the Seine River for 3.7 miles.
Celine Dion and Lady Gaga to perform at Olympics?
The intrigue: Celine Dion and Lady Gaga are both in Paris and NBC News reported it's possible one or both of the singers will perform at the opening ceremony.
- "They've kept all of the details very close to the vest, and we're waiting to find out too," NBC Olympics and Paralympics executive producer Molly Solomon said Wednesday in a media briefing when asked about Dion.
Snoop Dogg, LeBron James, Coco Gauff at Olympics
Rapper Snoop Dogg will carry the Olympic flame before the opening ceremony, ESPN reported.
- He'll also be a part of NBC's "Primetime in Paris" most days, which is hosted by Mike Tirico, the network said.
LeBron James and Coco Gauff are Team USA's flag bearers at the opening ceremony and will lead the U.S. delegation on the Seine on Friday.

Jill Biden and Doug Emhoff at the Olympics
First lady Jill Biden is set to lead the presidential delegation at the opening ceremony, according to the White House.
- Second gentleman Doug Emhoff is scheduled to lead the delegation at the closing ceremony, the White House said.
Where to watch, stream Summer Olympics games
What we're watching: NBC says the 2024 Olympics "will have more programming hours" on the network than any previous Olympics.
- With Paris six hours ahead of Eastern time, a "daytime takeover" will feature the "day's most popular events live on NBC in the morning and afternoon," NBC said.
- Peacock will stream every sport and event, including all 329 medal events, and have full-event replays. Plans start at $7.99 a month.
The opening ceremony will air on NBC as well as stream on Peacock and NBC Olympic platforms, which include NBCOlympics.com, NBC.com, the NBC app, and the NBC Olympics app.
- NBC said the USA Network, E!, CNBC and GOLF Channel will also present live action and programming throughout the Olympics.
