Joe Tyrrell has left Medallia, the Silicon Valley customer experience company he joined as CEO last March, the company confirms to Axios.

Why it matters: Medallia handles customer feedback for big brands like Airbnb and Comcast.

  • Medallia rivals include SurveyMonkey and Qualtrics.

Catch up quick: Tyrrell replaced former CEO Leslie Stretch, who brought Medallia public in 2019 and then two years later oversaw a $6.4 billion buyout by private equity firm Thoma Bravo.

  • Tyrrell previously was president of ICE Mortgage Technology, which includes former Thoma Bravo portfolio company Ellie Mae.
  • Tyrrell is leaving for personal reasons, sources say.

Look ahead: Medallia plans to launch a search for Tyrrell's replacement. Its interim CEO will be Mike Lipps, the company chairman and former CEO of LexisNexis.
