The U.S. men's basketball team suffered a stunning 83-76 loss to France in its opener at the Tokyo Olympics on Sunday.
Why it matters: The loss marked the end of Team USA's 25-game streak that dates back to the Athens 2004 Games.
- This is the second-straight loss the U.S. basketball team has faced on the international level with France, though it is the first time the U.S. has lost to France in the Olympics.
- The team will seek to redeem themselves when they take to the court Wednesday against Iran.
- Losing to France this early doesn't mean that the team won't medal. The top two teams from each group will advance to quarterfinals.
