The U.S. had 10 mass shootings since Friday night, as the country continues to see a spate of mass gun violence in 2021, according to the Gun Violence Archive.
Why it matters: The U.S. has seen 293 mass shootings in 2021 so far, according to GVA. The latest attacks follow a trend of deadly violent weekends in the U.S., as the country continues to reemerge from the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Details: Seven people were killed and at least 45 were injured. At least two of the victims were children, according to GVA. The shootings took place in New Jersey, Colorado, Indiana, Virginia, Texas, California, Alaska, Louisana and Minnesota, CNN reports.
Ten mass shootings — defined by Axios as four or more people hurt or killed by gunfire — across seven states killed 12 people and injured 57 more last weekend, according to GVA.
