No more masks at major theaters for vaccinated moviegoers

AMC Theatres, Regal Theatres and Cinemark Theatres announced this week that masks are now optional for moviegoers vaccinated against the coronavirus, except in theaters where local mandates require them indoors.

Why it matters: Movie theaters around the world are hoping for a box office rebound after the pandemic last year decimated the industry, which was already facing a threat from major streaming services.
