DoorDash has launched a new initiative to provide same-day on-demand delivery of FDA authorized COVID-19 test collection kits, it announced in a statement Monday.
Why it matters: The initiative could go a long way in helping make at-home COVID-19 testing more accessible, as many Americans prepare to reenter workplaces and schools.
Details: DoorDash has partnered with digital health companies Vault Health and Everlywell for the initiative.
- Vault Health's COVID-19 Saliva Test Kit or Everlywell COVID-19 Test Home Collection Kit DTC will be available in "12 DashMart locations across the U.S.," DoorDash's convenience store service.
- These locations include Baltimore, Chicago, Cleveland, Dallas, Denver, Minneapolis, and Phoenix, and there are plans to expand to other cities later in the year.
- Another of the company's platforms, DoorDash Drive, will power same-day delivery of Vault Health's COVID-19 Saliva Test Kit in 20 locations through the Vault Health website, allowing "thousands of patients on the Vault platform to get tested same-day and receive results all within a record time of 48 hours."
