Former Nissan chairman Carlos Ghosn was released from a Tokyo Detention House in Japan early Wednesday, after posting bail.
The big picture: Ghosn was the architect of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance — the largest carmaker in the world before his arrest in November for alleged financial misconduct. He denies any wrongdoing and had two previous requests for bail rejected. Prosecutors appealed his latest bid Monday, but he won his latest attempt to post bail — set at one billion yen ($8.9 million, Reuters news agency reports.
