Speaking to reporters Wednesday afternoon, President Trump claimed up to 15,000 troops could be sent to the south border to handle the migrant caravan heading up Central America northwards.
"We’ll go up to anywhere between 10 and 15,000 military personnel on top of Border Patrol, ICE and everybody else at the border... Nobody’s coming in. We’re not allowing people to come in."
The big picture: Just two days ago, officials announced 5,200 troops would be going to the border, a number which already surpassed the number of troops deployed to Iraq and Syria.
