The Justice Department has reopened the 1955 murder case of Emmett Till, a black teen whose brutal murder helped to spur the civil rights movement.
The big picture: While DOJ simply stated that it had received "new information" regarding the case, it likely stems from a new book that includes an admission from a key witness, a white woman who claimed that Till sexually harassed her prior to his murder, that she had lied about those events in her testimony, per the AP.
