A federal judge on Tuesday ordered the Trump administration to extend housing for nearly 1,000 Puerto Rican hurricane evacuee families living in hotels across the country, the AP reports.
The details: Housing for those displaced by Hurricane Maria last September was set to end on Sunday, but U.S. District Judge Timothy Hillman in Massachusetts has extended a restraining order, made by a separate judge, which ruled that ending the housing assistance program could inflict irreparable harm. The evacuees now have until at least midnight on July 23 before being evicted. According to the AP, about 1,700 families were living in hotels as of last Saturday, but that number has since dropped to 950.
