Poll: Majority of Republicans think the FBI is framing Trump

A new Economist/YouGov survey found that 61% of conservative voters believe that President Trump is being framed by the FBI.

Why it matters: This reflects a growing trend that Republicans are losing confidence in the country's premier law enforcement agency amid Trump’s own skepticism.

Yes, but: The poll figures among Democrats is dramatically different. Only 7% say the FBI is going after Trump, and 78% believe he’s not being framed.

The backdrop: This comes after a CBS News poll released on Tuesday found that a majority of Americans think Mueller’s investigation is politically motivated.
