Ronny Jackson Veterans Affairs confirmation hearing postponed
The Senate Veterans Affairs Committee has postponed the confirmation hearing for Ronny Jackson, President Trump's nominee to head the Department of Veterans Affairs, amid allegations of improper conduct and growing concerns about the physician's ability to lead the agency, committee chairman Johnny Isakson and ranking Democrat Jon Tester announced Tuesday.
Why it matters: Although the White House says it stands by Jackson, the delay only adds to their fears that he'll get denied.
"The Senate Committee on Veterans' Affairs is postponing the hearing to consider the nominee to be secretary of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in light of new information presented to the committee”— Sens. Isakson and Tester in a statement Tuesday
What to watch: The Sens. also sent a letter to President Trump on Tuesday requesting "all documentation pertaining to Rear Admiral Jackson's service in the White House medical unit and as Physician to the President."
