The L.A. Times reported Thursday that Lewis D'Vorkin, the chief content officer for Tronc, was fired for unclear reasons, and "several dozen other employees" based in L.A. were let go. A source confirmed the move to Axios.
Why it matters: This is the latest in a series of controversies plaguing the company, and the day after the Chicago Tribune's newsroom unionized. The future of the L.A. based team had been in question since the sale of the L.A. Times.
