Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg is confirmed to testify before the House Energy and Commerce Committee next week, the panel said on Wednesday morning.
Mark your calendars: The hearing will take place on the morning of Wednesday, April 11. It will be the first time that Zuckerberg has testified before Congress.
What they're saying: "This hearing will be an important opportunity to shed light on critical consumer data privacy issues and help all Americans better understand what happens to their personal information online," said the top Republican and Democrat on the committee in a statement.
What's next: Zuckerberg has also been invited to testify by two committees in the Senate, and a Facebook spokesman said talks with those panels continue.
