Students across the country stage walkouts to protest gun violence

Students in every corner of the U.S. have designated today National Walkout Day and marched out of their classrooms to protest gun violence on American campuses.

The big picture: Students from Los Angeles to Charlottesville showed power in numbers and demanded action from lawmakers on the one-month anniversary of the tragic mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.
