"Ceasefire Weekend" in Baltimore after record-high murders in 2017

Baltimore, one of the poorest major cities in the U.S., had 341 homicides last year — the highest per-capita rate on record.

The city is holding its third "Ceasefire Weekend," with organizers and community members calling for peace for a 72-hour period and holding peace walks, movie screenings and a youth basketball tournament.
