Marco Rubio fires chief of staff over "improper conduct"

On Friday, Sen. Marco Rubio was told that his chief of staff, Clint Reed, was accused of having an improper relationship with one of his subordinates. Rubio fired him late last night, per the Washington Post.

Why it matters: Rubio's swift action shows how seriously these allegations are being taken in the #MeToo era — and that sets a standard not only for Rubio's office, but for other senators to do the same.
