Trump voter commission requested “Hispanic surname flag notation”

The Trump administration's Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity requested “Hispanic surname flag notation” while purchasing 50 million voter records in Texas, according to the WashPost.

Why it matters: The voting commission, chaired by Vice President Mike Pence, was disbanded Jan. 3 after widespread resistance by state officials, and all data it gathered was said to be destroyed. Still, the panel faces lawsuits from at least 10 groups seeking to find out what data it collected and whether any information was shared outside the White House.
