No deal: Senate to vote at noon tomorrow to end shutdown

The Senate will vote tomorrow at noon — instead of 1 a.m. Monday morning — on a continuing resolution to fund the government through February 8. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell proposed having that vote at 10 p.m. this evening, which Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer rejected. McConnell also said that if the government reopens, there'd be action on DACA and border security by the 8th.

Why it matters: By sending the government into full shutdown mode on a federal workday, everyday workers will be impacted — and both sides look set to harden their positions. But there's a chance the shorter CR and the McConnell's commitment to immigration action shakes enough former "no" votes to reopen the government.
