With a government shutdown looming at the end of the week, President Trump tweeted this morning that CHIP reauthorization "should be part of a long term solution, not a 30 Day, or short term, extension."
Why it matters: Trump just undercut a huge part of Republicans' negotiating strategy on the funding bill — because a six-year CHIP reauthorization was their best leverage to win the Democratic votes they need.
