Probably no government shutdown over immigration

Democrats probably won't force a government shutdown this month over immigration legislation, the Washington Post reports. This highlights a "rift" between Democrats and immigration activists who wanted a deal on the Dream Act, which lets immigrants brought to the U.S. illegally as children stay in the country.

Sound smart: The Post says "vulnerable Democrats facing reelection in conservative states" next year will keep the Democrats from getting enough votes to block Republican plans to fund the government into next year.
