New retail trend: no cash allowed

You already knew this if you eat at Sweetgreen, but cash is losing currency, according to a N.Y. Times front-pager by Andy Newman:

• "In Midtown and some other neighborhoods across New York City, cashless is fast on its way to becoming normal."
• With more merchants accepting only credit or debit cards, a Visa exec calls it "freedom from carrying cash."
