John Conyers submits letter of resignation

Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.), the longest-serving member of Congress, submitted his letter of resignation Tuesday amid allegations that he sexually harassed staffers.

Earlier, Conyers announced through a local radio station that he was "retiring today," and maintained that the accusations against him will "absolutely not" damage his legacy. Instead, he said he will endorse his son, John Conyers III, to replace him.
