White House ethics lawyer Jim Schulz announced Monday morning that he is resigning in order to return to private practice at Cozen O'Conner, Politico reported this morning.
Why it matters: The White House has faced a lot of scrutiny on potential ethics issues, from the president's family members holding West Wing positions to questionable dealings with Russians. Schulz denies that these are the reasons for his resignation, but he did tell Politico he would be willing to go on TV to talk about conflicts of interest in the White House. "That'll be something I'd be willing to do, certainly, getting out and talking about the good work the Trump administration is doing on these issues."
