Twitter launching subscription ad product for small advertisers

Twitter today is launching a public beta version of Promote Mode, its first subscription ads product to automatically promote Tweets and profiles of accounts looking to attract more followers and improve their reach.

For $99/month, Twitter will automatically promote tweets as they are published to a target audience. Brands can manage the progress of their promoted tweets in a simple analytics dashboard that's accessible on mobile. It launches in the U.K. and U.S. today and will launch in Japan in the near future.

Why it matters: Promote Mode will help Twitter partner with more individuals, as well as small and medium-sized advertisers that may not have the resources to manage ad campaigns around the clock. Twitter is competing with Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and other tech giants with massive user bases, to win business from smaller advertisers that want to reach very specific audiences.
