Per The Washington Post, comments on social media by extremists suggest that Trump's actions would help terrorist groups with recruitment.
- One post hailed the U.S. president as "the best caller to Islam".
- Other posts suggest Donald Trump would launch a new war in the Middle East.
- The Post cites writings that imply Trump is fulfilling the predictions of Anwar al-Awlaki, who said the "West would eventually turn against its Muslim citizens."
Foreign Policy cites a jihadist supporter condemning Muslims working with the Trump administration saying, "The dogs of the cross should know their true value now ... Worthless!"
Meanwhile, the Jerusalem Post says a social media poster called Trump's order a "blessed ban," and compared it to America's invasion of Iraq in 2003, which they say "ignited anti-Western fervor across the Islamic world."
