Merck & Co. has posted a seven-year history of its list price increases to its website, Reuters reports, and it shows average price hikes of more than 9 percent for its medicines. The highest increase was 10.5 percent, which is significant because 10 percent is the level that three global drugmakers have set as a voluntary limit for their price hikes. Other drug companies are looking at similar disclosures to become more transparent about their pricing, in part because of pressure from Washington.
