Let the Obamacare repeal markups begin

(J. Scott Applewhite / AP)

Both the Ways and Means and Energy and Commerce Committees began what are expected to be marathon markups of the House Obamacare repeal and replacement legislation on Wednesday. And as expected, the drama started early, with bickering over process, speaking time and, of course, whether the bills under consideration were wonderful or horrendous.

Of course, let's not forget what Congress-style drama means. We're talking things like motions to postpone the markup, a motion to table that motion, and then a roll call vote on the motion to table the motion. Energy and Commerce Committee chairman Greg Walden didn't get three words into his opening statement before ranking Democrat Frank Pallone interrupted him to complain about the Democrats' speaking time.

Hot take: Yes, we are going to be here all night.

Update, 12 p.m.: Pallone is making the clerk read the entire bill.
