Harvard President to step down

Harvard President Drew Gilpin Faust announced today that she'll be stepping down from her position at the end of June 2018 after an 11-year tenure. In 2007, Faust became the first female president in Harvard's 380-year history.

Some accomplishments: She presided over Harvard's broadening of its financial aid policy, which worked to significantly diversify the student population. Additionally, she shepherded the university through the 2008 financial crisis largely unscathed, facing down an $11 billion plunge in the school's endowment in 2009.
