CNN analyst Jeffrey Lord was let go from the network yesterday after he tweeted "Sieg Heil" to Angelo Carusone, president of liberal website Media Matters. Lord is known for his conservative viewpoints expressed on CNN, often drawing criticism and ire from the left and praise from the right. This situation was no different: conservatives quickly defended Lord and blamed CNN for what they viewed as another left-wing outlet silencing the views of the right.
- Fox News host Sean Hannity weighed in on Twitter. "How sad in America that only conservatives get investigated, fired, boycotted and attacked. Double standard, & liberal silence is repulsive!"
- Mike Cernovich, a prominent voice in the "new-right" movement, tweeted: "Media smears Jeffrey Lord for making 'Nazi gesture' when he was clearly satirizing the left."
- Breitbart blamed CNN for firing Lord after the site claims they allowed "Nazi smears against Breitbart."
