The Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday advanced Gail Slater's nomination to lead the DOJ's antitrust division.
The big picture: Senators voted 20-2. Slater's nomination now heads to the full Senate for a vote.
Catch up quick: Slater had an easy time during her nominations hearing, suggesting she'll be confirmed quickly.
She told senators at her February hearing that she'll "get up to speed" on on the ongoing Big Tech cases involving Google and Apple at DOJ "and take it from there."
Zoom in: Slater is a known entity in Washington tech policy world.
She's worked for the FTC, on tech issues in the White House during President Trump's first term, and at 21st Century Fox, Roku, and the now-defunct Internet Association.
She most recently served as a policy adviser for Vice President JD Vance during his time in the Senate.
