HappyRobot just scored $150 million in Series C funding at a $1.2 billion valuation, but CEO Pablo Palafox tells Axios Pro that the startup may raise again in the coming months. 

Why it matters: The supply chain automation company has reached unicorn status in 20 months by expanding into telecom, utilities and energy. 

Follow the money: Prysm Capital and Eurazeo led, joined by Bankinter, Kfund, Koch Disruptive Technologies, Orange and T.Capital (Deutsche Telekom). 

Its revenue has grown fivefold since its Series B in September, according to Palafox.

This interview has been lightly edited for length and clarity.

How has HappyRobot grown at such a fast pace?

Palafox: "We've been able to cater to the enterprise of the supply chain. We've been able to sustain a growth that allows us now to expand to other verticals while keeping our stronghold in our origins."

"About four or five years. We're extremely efficient as well in our burn, so it's a pretty sustainable timeline."

How soon do you envision fundraising again?

"Maybe in the next few months, most likely, if we continue this growth."

"We've done a few acqui-hires of smaller companies, not necessarily in the supply chain space. 

Transparently, we have had some conversations and some folks reach out, and we might look at some teams. We typically just look at the raw talent. With great talent, you can build great products."

What does HappyRobot's growth mean for supply chains?

"You don't need to wait until the issue happens. You have agents that are monitoring constantly and flagging issues, and acting accordingly. So I think it just means better and more efficient supply chains.
