Ofiniti, a Norwegian maritime fueling platform, acquired Dutch real-time vessel tracking firm Teqplay, CEO Tue Nielsen tells Axios Pro.

What's next: Ofiniti is planning another acquisition in the next 12 months and entertaining inbounds for a Series B fundraise, Nielsen says.

Nielsen declined to disclose terms but characterized the acquisition as a multi-million-dollar deal with built-in earn-outs.

Context: The deal adds the Gulf Coast to Ofiniti's portfolio, as the company aims to take advantage of U.S. natural gas exports quadrupling over the last decade.

Texas' Port of Corpus Christi, the second busiest U.S. port for LNG exports, will be Ofiniti's anchor customer in the region. 

Zoom out: Maritime tech — replacing networks of spreadsheets, phone calls and physical paperwork — is ripe for consolidation, the CEO says.

What they're saying: "We see a lot of interesting companies sitting at anywhere between $100k to millions dollars of ARR, where you could easily tuck those in," Nielsen says.

"The customers don't want 1,000 different platforms," Nielsen says. "They don't want to log into 10 different systems."

Catch up quick: Ofiniti moved into Singapore with its acquisition of Angsana Technology in March 2025.

It raised $6.8 million earlier this year from U.K.-based Verb Ventures and ShipsFocus, joined by DNV Ventures, Nysnø Climate Investments and others.

Formerly known as FuelBoss, Ofiniti spun out of DNV Ventures in 2024.

By the numbers: Ofiniti's more than 200 customers include five of the 10 largest non-sanctioned fuel tanker lines, Nielsen says.

Teqplay tracks vessels and cargo movements across 490 ports in 90 countries.
