BILT, a SaaS provider of 3D-guided interactive instructions, raised a $21 million Series B, CEO Nate Henderson tells Axios exclusively.

Why it matters: BILT has a partnership with Apple and its customers include Home Depot, Weber, Breville, Siemens and the U.S. Air Force.

What's next: The next raise will be opportunistic and could come as soon as a year, Henderson says, noting some strategics want to participate.

Zoom in: Silverton Partners led the Series B with participation from Amex Ventures, Fifth Growth Fund and Silicon Valley Bank.

Proceeds will allow BILT to expand growth into additional categories and industries.

Catch up quick: Henderson incubated the company at the software giant SAP and spun it out as a separate business in 2016.

It previously raised a $9 million round in 2021.

By the numbers: BILT's platform comprises over 10,000 product SKUs from nearly 300 brands. It has more than 10 million users and is available in 12 languages.

How it works: BILT creates interactive, 3D instructions for products that require assembly, installation, maintenance and repair. 

The company also provides analytics to brands and original equipment manufacturers to improve products and experience.

What they're saying: "By simplifying complex tasks, BILT bolsters setup success and improves product ratings and reviews while reducing returns and calls to support," said Amex Ventures managing director Margaret Lim in a statement.

"New places for commerce have historically emerged from content platforms with scale. BILT presents opportunities for its customers to surface relevant products across multiple customer touchpoints," she said.

The intrigue: Henderson says that BILT has the largest data set of 3D product information, which could be valuable given the increasing popularity of AI and visual and spatial computing.
