7-Eleven owner gets takeover bid from Circle K parent company

Seven & i, the Japanese owner of convenience store chain 7-Eleven, confirmed that a takeover offer from Canadian rival Alimentation Couche-Tard.

Why it matters: It would create a global convenience store giant and perhaps be the largest foreign takeover of a Japanese company.
