Quote of the week

Stablecoin adoption in corporate payments may hinge on adding digital settlement to the systems businesses already use to pay their vendors.

Why it matters: Faster settlement doesn't eliminate the payee onboarding, approvals and reconciliation that corporate payments require.

Driving the news: Anchorage Digital acquired Routable this week, gaining a platform that manages payments to vendors, contractors and other recipients.

Routable connects accounting systems with payment providers and handles onboarding, risk checks, approvals and reconciliation.

Anchorage plans to add stablecoin and tokenized-deposit settlement in the coming quarters.

Meanwhile: Noah raised $16 million this week to connect stablecoin settlement with local payment systems for businesses moving money internationally.

What we're watching: Anchorage and Noah can make stablecoins available within familiar payment workflows, but both will need to show businesses when it's worth using them over existing methods.
